Hey all,
Ugh, I cant seem to go very long without disappearing from here @_@. I always forget poor DA, shame on me.
So, a lot has happened with me in the last 5 months or so. I moved, finished Schoolism courses, and changed jobs. WOO! Im now in a spectacular position working with spectacular, amazing artists. I was away for quite awhile training in another state, which is was difficult but also fun as hell. I got to work alongside some of the best artists Ive met in my career to date. Plus they were all super nice guys and gals. Im very fortunate to have had this turn of events come along in my life.
I've been nuking various things here on DA and cleaning up. I really wanted to deconstruct the entire account and start over, but I dont want to lose my account name, feh. So Im just going through the ridiculous process of hand-deleting stuff. I was going to destroy everything, but someone commented to me that they like seeing people's older work. It shows how much one can improve and change. I do agree! I've been taking my personal art in a very, very different direction, so my new uploads will hopefully reflect that
OH!! About my Schoolism..I need to start uploading my assignments here. Sorry for dropping the ball there. I really enjoyed the Intro to Digital Painting course and got a great result in that class. The character design course was another story. It was very difficult and required a lot more drawing than I had time for. I didnt do so well there, but it was awesome nonetheless. Both courses were worth their weight in gold. Im taking one more class this June, the Bobby Chu painting course. I totally can't wait for that!
Anyways, sorry for MIA-ness. I hope to upload new and improved stuff here soon ^_^. I have a big con coming up but it's my last for this year. I'd like to put together a comprehensive set of uploads about my Schoolism experience. I want to show you guys what they do there. That site and it's instructors ROCK. If you can ever afford the guided experience there, it is truly wonderful.
PS: Oh shizz, and I finally broke down and bought myself a Cintiq 21 UX. A little gift to myself after the past three, hard years. Super excited to get to rip it out and try it! <--needs my bigger desk to arrive for it

Schoolism update!
Hi all,
so I've officially become a student of the amazing collective at Schoolism.com. I am currently taking the Character Design course with Steven Silver. I also have Intro to Digital Painting with Andrew Hou beginning on the 23rd or so. I wanted to write a little entry here to talk about my experience thus far ^_^.
First off, I chose the guided courses at Schoolism. They are a lot more expensive than the self-taught classes, but they are exactly the thing for me. I dont know about you, but I learn very visually. I need to _see_ what people are talking about if Im to fully absorb what they're trying to show me. Actually watching
Worst con ever, and a big change.
I've done cons for about 15 years now, give or take.
This is the first con I've ever sold at where I didn't break even on the table cost. It was so bad we tore down on Saturday night and decided not to set up on Sunday. I know that this happens to everyone who does cons at least once. I've seen it happen. Artists crying at their table, asking others what they did wrong, etc. They look for a reason why people arent giving their work attention. I tell you, it's eye opening, and it's definitely a stab in the face if you've never experienced it. I know it wasn't the con itself, as others around me seemed to be doing just fine. It was m
More Schoolism $_$, and cons!
Hey all, how are you doing?
I was looking through some art blogs this weekend and found a couple more guys who teach at the Schoolism site. I kept thinking I should go check those classes out, and while Im there I should check the Bobby Chiu schedule. Oh my Hell, his next two classes are full!!! BLAST! #_# I had planned to take the late Spring class, but it's gone, so I signed up for the Summer class before it too goes away. Man, ouch in the wallet, but that is the one class I am pining for super badly. Next year is going to be filled with awesome :D (I hope!)
Havent been doing a whole lot of art lately. My stupid back/leg problem i
