I've started reorganizing and cleaning up the galleries. Im not deleting as much as I had planned. -sigh- I like my old crappy art :{. Even if it's crappy, I still had love in my heart when I tried to craft it's crappyness, hahah. I've actually made folders now and Im just moving things around to new, respectable homes. As much as I want to nuke the whole place, I just can't do it. I know that even if I dont like my stuff, someone out there might, so I dont want to take that away. I know I've been heartbroken in the past when artists I love have some kind of crisis of self and yank their galleries. Bleh. I hates that feeling. Anyhow, hopefully the reorg will make this place less sloppy.
In personal news, Ive been working in the darkness a lot to try and improve myself. Ive been so inspired lately by some artists I've recently connected with. They just astound me with their kung fu. The fire has been litteth under my arse! The day job as been pretty severe for the last several months tho, so I havent had time to color and finish things. There's also a pretty nasty health problem I've been going through for about a year. Ive got something bad going on with my back, which makes sitting -insanely painful-. This means that even when I do sit down to draw, I rarely have the strength to finish anything. I went through months of therapy and stuff, but nobody could help. It's kind of a mystery as to what's wrong. Going to a new doc soon, hopefully they can figure out what the deal is. Right now I am limited to sketching, and day job work. Anything else is usually pushed due to my back pain. Stupid back. Made of shards of glass and piss it is.
I start the Schoolism stuff in a couple of months, and I am really ready for that. Im trying to prepare by getting my workspace at home in order. I really want a height adjustable desk so I can stand and work, but my GOD those things are expensive. I hear it really helps though if you have back issues. Im also trying desperately to get a Cintiq on Ebay or Craigslist. I want to try and land a used 12 to see how those things work. I'd plunk out for a big one, but not til Im sure I can use it ok. Newfangled teknology is newfangled.
So that's what is going on with me. I am still doing a ton of art...it's just having to sit while I deal with my health and other things. : To everyone who's still here, Im sorry for the lack of updates and things. As soon as I get my spine chrome-plated and healed, I shall return! <3 <3 <3

Schoolism, work, Cintiq! Woo!
Hey all,
Ugh, I cant seem to go very long without disappearing from here @_@. I always forget poor DA, shame on me.
So, a lot has happened with me in the last 5 months or so. I moved, finished Schoolism courses, and changed jobs. WOO! Im now in a spectacular position working with spectacular, amazing artists. I was away for quite awhile training in another state, which is was difficult but also fun as hell. :) I got to work alongside some of the best artists Ive met in my career to date. Plus they were all super nice guys and gals. Im very fortunate to have had this turn of events come along in my life. :worship:

Schoolism update!
Hi all,
so I've officially become a student of the amazing collective at Schoolism.com. I am currently taking the Character Design course with Steven Silver. I also have Intro to Digital Painting with Andrew Hou beginning on the 23rd or so. I wanted to write a little entry here to talk about my experience thus far ^_^.
First off, I chose the guided courses at Schoolism. They are a lot more expensive than the self-taught classes, but they are exactly the thing for me. I dont know about you, but I learn very visually. I need to _see_ what people are talking about if Im to fully absorb what they're trying to show me. Actually watching
Worst con ever, and a big change.
I've done cons for about 15 years now, give or take.
This is the first con I've ever sold at where I didn't break even on the table cost. It was so bad we tore down on Saturday night and decided not to set up on Sunday. I know that this happens to everyone who does cons at least once. I've seen it happen. Artists crying at their table, asking others what they did wrong, etc. They look for a reason why people arent giving their work attention. I tell you, it's eye opening, and it's definitely a stab in the face if you've never experienced it. I know it wasn't the con itself, as others around me seemed to be doing just fine. It was m

You can fake a stand-up desk by getting ahold of a couple of paper-ream boxes (you know, the ones with lids, that hold like 8 reams of paper?), weighing them down with something (like bricks or file folders or reams of paper), and then setting your keyboard/mouse on one, and your monitor on the other, with assorted phone books for any other height adjustments on the monitor. One of my coworkers did that when she thought about switching to a stand-up desk, before she committed. Also note, it's better on your back but your feet will HURT. I recommend those gel-pads that are advertised for standing on in the kitchen, they will save your feet and ankles...
Grats on the Cintiq! I'm so jealous. Hope it just gets better and better!
