Steven Silver class assignment 1 by bassanimation Steven Silver class assignment 1 by bassanimation
Here is my very first Schoolism assignment! This is for the Character Design class with the acclaimed and awesome, Steven Silver. I signed up for this class to try and add more life, variation, and balance to my character art. I feel like I am an ok 'drawer', but I lack the understanding of movement and shape that I need to make really awesome characters.

Anyways, this is Mr. Walter Chipwitther. We had to draw him based on a simple description. This is so Mr. Silver can assess where our skill level is at, and what we need to work on. As you can see, this fellow has quite a few problems, across the board. My eyes see it, but my brain doesnt know how to fix these problems, yet. I hope Mr. Silver's critique can help me around these artistic humps. :)

Feel free to leave your own thoughts here if you'd like. While I'll be relying on Mr. Silver for the most badass of all crits, I can always use more critical eyes and thoughts on how to improve. Thank you for journeying with me!

Thanks, Story! I hope this class helps me loosen up a bit, and figure out shapes a bit more. I'll definitely be posting everything as I go along. I'd be more than happy to chat with you about the class anytime! Your work is what really inspired me to take this plunge, so I owe you big time. :D
